Logo Design
name exploration
It was the result of a short competition. Nobu restaurant asked for a rebranding of the classic logo which would have been placed on t-shirt and gift bag in a specific period of the year.
The first one was the winning logo. It was required to involve two main concepts which are Japanese and Peruvian symbols, as Nobu is an expression of the combination of these two primary cultures.
In the first two, there are cherry blossom (Japanese representation) and a specific Peruvian Sun (one of its dominant symbols).
The big "Torii Gate" is a typical symbol of Japan's culture, iconic in many ways, and its meaning was originally the passage into the sacred areas. There is a combination of two characters (Japan/Peru) even in this case. I interpreted the gate as the entrance of NOBU Temple: the actual restaurant.
